Wind and Weather Conditions
Aruba is warm all year, 28-32°C. At night it doesn't cool down at all, it's only the sun missing, but the wind stays, so it can get a little chilly. You can count on some hotter days during the summer month (July-September). Aruba is mostly dry, even in the rainy season, the rain doesn't really last longer than 10 min. The water temperature is around 27°C, so forget your wetsuit! Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from NE . There is Trade wind at Westpunt, Aruba. Gusty winds, can be dangerous. It's blowing here in Aruba Northeast all year long, maybe some lighter days in the month of September-November and in the beginning of December. But that only means it won't blow every day over 15 knots. The chance you can kiteboard are always 90%. Don't forget your small kite sizes! Days of 25 knots are quite normal. Wind usually blows from NE on the spot. The best moments to come to Westpunt, Aruba are January, February, March, April, May, June, July and August .
Beach and Tide Conditions
Westpunt, Aruba is a Small waves and Medium waves spot. The launching/landing area is reported to be of Small size. no info yet Dark blue water, more swell than Arashi. This beach has the biggest waves on Aruba. There are big rocks just a few inches under the surface. You can either surf the left or the right, but the left is very dangerous because if you don't pull out of the wave in time you will get washed over the rocks.
Only in the high season (November until Easter ) will you need to reserve a rental car. Otherwise there are buses going from downtown to the hotel area and minibuses to any destination. Of course you can rent scooters, Harleys, Squats/ 4weeler, horses, bikes as well. The spot is at the west point of the island. Take the main highway next to the hotels heading northwest. To your left you will see a stranded rusted ship on shore, keep on going till you pass the Malmok, Arashi beach and eventually the golf club on your right. Before heading towards the lighthouse make a left on a dirt road, follow that dirt road for about 100m and you will see Westpoint right in front of you with it's big rocks sticking out of the water.
